To ensure that interns are well-supported in their work and life, the HR team is expected to check in with interns at several points throughout their internship.

Message the intern on Slack, including their buddy and supervisor(s). Propose a video call if you have capacity.

Questions can include:

  • How has your first week been? 
  • How are you enjoying the projects and tasks that you've been assigned? Would you prefer to be doing something else?
  • How are you adjusting to the organisation and work culture at WISE? Is there anything we can do to support you?

  • How are you enjoying the projects and tasks that you've been assigned? Would you prefer to be doing something else?
  • How are you adjusting to the organisation and work culture at WISE? Is there anything we can do to support you?

Message the intern on Slack, including their buddy and supervisor(s). Propose a video call if you have capacity.

Questions can include:

  • How has your experience been so far?
  • Is there anything we can do to improve your experience?
  • What would you like to achieve or focus on for the remainder of your internship?

Organise a video call on Gather to carry out a debrief. Invite their buddy and supervisor(s) if they are comfortable.

Questions are in the #minions debrief sheet, and responses should be summarised in the sheet so that the HR team can identify action items.

Each intern's check-in schedule should be included in the Team dashboard sheet. When check-in dates are approaching within one week, the cell will be highlighted in green.
